Buffalo Power: Hold and Win Keeps Winning!

Buffalo Power: Hold and Win Keeps Winning!

The Buffalo Bills have been one of the surprise teams in the NFL this season. Led by a staunch defense and the dual threat of rookie quarterback Josh Allen and veteran running back LeSean McCoy, the Bills have compiled a 5-2 record and sit atop the AFC East.

One of the key contributors to Buffalo's early-season success has been their ability to hold onto leads. In their five victories, the Bills have enjoyed fourth quarter leads on four occasions. And they've been able to close out those games each time, with McCoy leading the way on the ground.

McCoy is no stranger to fourth quarter heroics. Heading into Week 8, McCoy led all NFL running backs with 368 yards rushing in the fourth quarter since 2016. That total includes a career-high 155 yards against Baltimore on September 9th of this year.

This past Sunday, McCoy was at it again, carrying the ball 13 times for 53 yards and a touchdown in the fourth quarter as Buffalo held off a late rally from Indianapolis to win 37-5. The victory was Buffalo's third in a row and moved them into sole possession of first place in the AFC East.

For his efforts, McCoy was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week. It was his second such award this season, having previously won it for his performance against Minnesota in Week 3.

McCoy and company will look to keep things going when they host Houston this coming Sunday. With a win over the Texans, Buffalo would improve to 6-2 on the year and all but guarantee themselves a spot in the playoffs.

Buffalo Power: Hold and Win Hits it Big Again!

In a league where offense is becoming the norm, Buffalo Power has shown that it can still put up some big numbers.

Led by quarterback Hold and wide receiver Win Hits, the team has now scored over 40 points in each of their last three games.

This hot streak has Buffalo Power in first place in their division with a record of 4-1.

"I'm really proud of the way our offense is playing," said coach Timmy Turner. "They are making big plays when we need them."

Hold has been especially impressive, throwing for over 1,000 yards and 14 touchdowns in just five games.

"I've been around football my entire life and I've never seen anything like this," said Hits. "It's just amazing to be a part of it."

Buffalo Power: Hold and Win a Sure Thing!

The Buffalo Bills are a professional American football team based in the Buffalo–Niagara Falls metropolitan area. The Bills compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league's American Football Conference (AFC) East division. They play their home games at New Era Field in Orchard Park, New York.

The Bills were established in 1960 as a charter member of the American Football League (AFL) and joined the NFL as part of the AFL–NFL merger agreement in 1970. The team has played seventeen seasons in the NFL, compiling an overall record of 87–137. The Bills reached the Super Bowl for the first time in January 1992, but lost to the Washington Redskins 37-24. The team was owned by Ralph Wilson until his death on March 25, 2014, at which point he was succeeded by his widow Mary Wilson.

On October 8, 2017, Nathan Peterman made his first career start as quarterback for Buffalo against the Los Angeles Chargers. Down by 3 points with 2 minutes left on 4th down and 10 yards to go, Peterman led the Bills to a win with a successful drive and a touchdown pass to wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin.

Buffalo went on to face Jacksonville in their first playoff game since 1999 following their Week 17 victory over Miami; Peterman started again and threw two interceptions as Buffalo lost 10-3. In spite of this loss, many fans believe that Buffalo's playoff future looks bright with Peterman under center; given more experience, he could become one of the best quarterbacks in the league.
